We Rule developer and publisher Ngmoco has acquired Dutch studio and long-time collaborator Rough Cookie. The studio is responsible for the award-winning iOS title Star Defense, along with Touch Pets and Pulse: The Game - all of which were published by Ngmoco. Rough Cookie also lent a hand on Ngmoco's We Rule and We Farm games.
Founded in 2008, the Amsterdam-based Rough Cookie is currently working on "an unannounced Ngmoco flagship title for Mobage", which will be released on both iOS and Android.
"Rough Cookie's values and creative capability are a perfect match for Ngmoco," said Ngmoco CEO Neil Young. "We are delighted to formally bring Rough Cookie into our family of companies. At Ngmoco, it's important for us to anchor the Mobage service with great first-party games and Rough Cookie will be a key studio in achieving that goal."
"We are very excited to be joining the ngmoco and DeNA family," Rough Cookie CEO Danny Hoffmann added. "We had great experiences and results on the projects that we have worked on with Ngmoco, and we are truly proud to join the leader of mobile entertainment."
Last year Ngmoco was acquired by Japanese social gaming company DeNA, which saw Ngmoco's Plus+ network intergrated with DeNA's Mobage.
