Chronicle director signs up to Shadow Of The Colossus movie

Sony has signed Chronicle director Josh Trank to develop and direct a movie adaptation of Team Ico's austere PS2 masterpiece, Shadow Of The Colossus.

There's currently no writer attached to the project, though Trank and producer Kevin Misher are actively looking for the right person.

Trank's also working on two Marvel superhero projects - Fantastic Four for Fox and Spider-Man spinoff Venon for Sony Pictures - along with a Warner Bros comic book adaptation of Red Star, so it may be quite some time before we hear anything more.

Hopefully this movie won't become mired in politics and uncertainty like the ongoing BioShock adaptation, which has already lost two directors. However, there's every reason to have heart, as Trank is a fan of Team Ico's epic and sought out the directorial job himself.
